Empty me of me

O', Lord, how desperately I need you; Your law shows how much I've fallen short, but Your grace shows me how you’ve saved me from my brokenness.    So many times, my fallenness gets in the way from allowing your mighty power to work through me. Selfishness and greed creep in. They leave me wondering this is who I am.    I’ve bought into the lies of the world that its ok to focus on me and do what I want to do; consume and be happy in this temporal world; be of this world.    The world tells me to follow my heart, but Your word shows me that the heart is so deceitful and desperately wicked; who can truly understand it?    It’s not about me; it never was. Lord, I plead that you empty me of me. Let not complacency settle in. Give me a selfless heart of service for I am Your slave; I’m not a slave to this world any longer.    My identity is not in who I think I am; my identity is in who You called me to be. Origin, cultural affiliation, place of birth - Lord, these things I conside

It is Finished!

A helpless man I was; filled with darkness and anarchy  But something powerful and amazing happened at Calvary.  Through my eyes the world was meaningless without You But a beautiful promise made long ago had finally come through. A Man named Jesus was sentenced to be nailed on a cross Where He bore the sins of the world so that none may be lost. Out of love He gave His life for us all to be Savior and Redeemer My heart went from darkness to light and is now cleaner.  The price You paid for me can never, ever be repaid How great is Your mercy, I can now live my life unafraid.  Knowing that my sins and failures are no more How my heart dances in praise; I feel as though I can soar.  Hallelujah! Yes, forevermore my sins and debt You have extinguished Ever since that wonderful day You said, "it is finished!"  Inspirational Bible Verses:  1 Peter 2:24 (NASB) And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His w

Who am I

Who am I? Whom many would call a lost cause would choose  to think of me and place those voices of doubt on pause. Who am I? One who doesn't even come close to Your glory, but You pursued me anyway and gave me the victory.  Who am I? A man that's just filthy rags stained by sin, but You said "it is finished", so now my life can begin.  Who am I? A stranger that was once Your foe Y ou see with loving eyes and now call him Your own.  Who am I? I am Yours oh, Lord. Because of your love, redemption, and grace, a new song of praise my body and  soul sings in one accord.  Inspirational Bible Verses:  Romans 3:23-26 (NKJV) For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present

The Heavy Hand That Frees

How marvelous and instructive is your Hand, Lord. It’s the same gentle Hand that puts my heart at ease and its the same mighty Hand that rebukes me. O’ where would I be without your Heavy Hand, Father. A lost and miserable man would I be; wandering through  the desert with no hope in sight seeking for water and not finding it.  O’ how strong is your conviction when your Heavy Hand is upon me; such a heavy, intense weight is placed on my soul.  How my flesh wants to ignore, defy, and flee it, but Your  Holy Spirit whispers to me that I be still and come back to You. Yes, Your Heavy Hand shows me the wicked error of my ways.  Your Heavy Hand reveals how my sins try to disconnect me from You. But your Heavy Hand won’t let me go because I am your's, Lord.  Just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights, so it is  when Your Hand is over me. Thank you, Abba! You rebuke those that you love; ones that You call Your children. Father, Your Hand helps me to repent of my sins and gui
